Reed Returns Home for Expansion of Reed’s Metals into Cross City, Fla.

Set to Offer New Jobs

(Brookhaven, Miss.) – President and CEO of Reed’s Metals, Bernie Reed, opens his 7th manufacturer of Reed’s Metals in Cross City, Fla. on Wednesday, Nov.1. Reed, a native of Horseshoe Beach, Fla., has roots that stretch across the greater Dixie County area with his Florida residence and his family’s owned restaurant Max and Ruby’s. The 5,000-square-foot metal manufacturer facility, once Quicken Manufacturing, is set to create countless new jobs.

“The return home couldn’t come at a better time because Floridians affected by Hurricane Irma are needing to rebuild and we can help rebuild with weather resistant products that can withstand up to 145 mph winds. This is my home and I have every intention to see my hometown thrive like never before. We are here not only to expand but also to create numerous of job opportunities at a higher pay rate that will provide a better quality of life for the community as a whole,” Reed said.

The million dollar investment will also create endless tax dollars within Dixie County with a goal of $10 million in revenue over the next 4 years. The operation will be overseen by Reed’s Metals partner Lucas Rollins. A ribbon cutting ceremony is tentatively set for Dec. 13 at the new location where politicians, the public and media will tour the metal facility, but Reed’s is open for business today.

“When I decide to expand my business, I don’t formulate its success around a building. I form my business around people because customers and communities are at the heart of what we do. It is always our goal to offer quality products that last a lifetime but also to affect lives through our giving back efforts. We recently formed a partnership with Eight Days of Hope, a non-profit organization, that provides disaster recovery and rapid response for communities affected by natural disasters. We are excited about our partnerships and our expansion,” Reed said.

Reed’s Metals, a top metal manufacturer in the Southeast, has been serving customers since 1998 and Cross City will be no different. Reed’s will continue to be a one-stop-shop for metal roofs, buildings, and pole barns with service offerings of “Order Today, Pick up Today.”
